Thank You For Joining MWA’s Fall Mixer

MWA extends a warm thank you to everyone who joined us this past Thursday for an evening of building new connections and reconnecting with familiar faces.

As MWA enters its 8th season of seminars and events, we’re embracing the theme of advocacy—exploring how to advocate for yourself when projects take unexpected turns and how to support others through professional challenges. Each season, we’re delighted to welcome new faces, reflecting the strength of our community and our shared commitment to personal and professional growth.

A Grant Writing Workshop: How to Apply & Why It Matters

July 16th, 2026

There are a wide range of architecture related grants available - travel grants, research grants, fellowships and residencies - offered by a variety of organizations. Professional career grants can be a powerful way to take initiative and pursue independent, architecture adjacent initiatives. Grants offer more than just funding - they can help launch personal and professional passions, support emerging architects and designers, and create meaningful connections. They open doors to explore ideas, conduct personal research and engage with different communities and peers. They are more accessible than they might seem, and with the right approaches, they can be transformative and enriching. In this seminar, Fiyel will highlight the how-tos of grant writing, in hopes of guiding emerging professionals on how to gain the resources they need in pursuing their work from start to finish!
