Responsibilities:                                                                         

▪  Bridge vision and execution—work alongside the Principal to bring creative direction to life through actionable planning.

▪  Lead and manage architectural projects from the initial concept through the construction administration phase.

▪  Manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables; ensure code and sustainability compliance.

▪   Collaborate with the principal and design team to prepare and present compelling design proposals, drawings, and specifications to the clients.

▪   Coordinate with engineers, consultants, contractors, and interior designers to ensure seamless design integration, oversee construction contracts, and conduct site visits to gather project requirements and ensure proper execution.

▪    Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior and intermediate team members, ensuring the highest quality of deliverables, and meeting project milestones.

▪    Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, addressing their needs and concerns throughout the project lifecycle.

▪   Seek opportunities to improve skills set and knowledge - YHA encourages and fully supports team members professional development by attending lectures and workshops and staying up to date with industry trends and advancement.

Qualifications:

▪    7+ years professional experience

▪    Accredited Degree in Architecture: B.Arch or M.Arch

▪    Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit

▪    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

▪    Strong proficiency in Bluebeam

▪    Strong project management skills

▪    Ability to multi-task and lead a team to meet deadlines

▪    Understand contracts and the financial nature of architectural work

▪    Excellent organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Licensed or actively pursuing licensure to practice architecture in New York State

  • 5-7 years overall experience in New York City architectural offices since earning a professional degree

  • A Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree in the United States or equivalent degree earned in a foreign country

  • Experience with Revit, CAD, and Adobe Creative Suite

  • LEED Accreditation or Passive House certified

  • Experience with the New York City Building Code, Zoning Resolution, Energy Code, and DOB filing documents and procedures

  • Authorization to work in the United States
